The story of Cyril Kamar (aka K.Maro) begins in the 1980s. From a childhood marked by the war in Lebanon - where he was born - to the 1990s, when his family moves to Montreal, Cyril Kamar grew up surrounded by music and particularly French artists.
It’s only after arriving to Canada that he discovers urban cultures, quickly developing a solid reputation in the Montreal underground scene. Between Montreal and NY, he surrounded himself with breakers, graphers, DJs, building brick by brick what would become his trademark: a subtle balance between business savoir-faire and creative audacity.
2024 marks a turning point in his career, with the release, under his own label Kpone Inc Music Group of La Good Life. Propelled by the instant hit* Femme Like You*, the album sells millions of copies around the world and tops the charts in more than 18 countries.
His subsequent releases and successful tours quickly place him at an enviable spot in the industry, where he is recognized by his European peers as one of the 30 best producers under 30.
Taking a step back from strenuous touring, he turns his attention in the following years to talent scouting and development. This new venture leads him to collaborate with artists such as Shy’m, Corneille, Fredz, Belly, Vai, 411, Suzuya, Ogee, Skip The Use, Bruno Mars, P ,Diddy, Dipset, Cheb Mami as well as advising Warner and Universal Music on their business strategies.
A long-time contemporary art lover and collector, Cyril Kamar, accompanied by his wife and partner Anne Sophie Mignaux Kamar, adds a new string to his bow in 2023, opening Maison Keï Akai in Montreal, an art gallery dedicated to supporting and promoting the works and talents of young artists.
Music, art, philanthropy, entrepreneurship: at the age of 43, Cyril Kamar has become the ART(S) dealer he had always dreamt of being.
2024 will mark the 20th anniversary of La Good Life. K.Maro will celebrate this unique reunion on the road and with his fans in Quebec, Europe and the Middle East . Stay tuned!
