Walter Astral is a druid, an explorer of the multiverse. The music that accompanies him speaks of the Elements that surround him and the magic they embody.
Illuminated by the orb of the candle-men and guided by the advice of Baron Samedi, Walter discovers fantastic universes in which his thirst for mysticism and his love of no-reason are satisfied.
Walter Astral invites us to follow him on his cosmic quest for freedom and to forget our conceptions of reality.
Walter Astral is a duo composed of Tristan Thomas also known as Zaspéro and former captain at Ovhal 44, and Tino Gelli the lead singer of the band Polycool.
Despite pulling inspiration from seemingly different musical spheres, they are both driven by the same love of fantasy and the absurd, where their distinct grooves intertwine into mystical trances.
Walter Astral's music is at the crossroad of psychedelic pop and acid techno music. Tristan's Acid bass and drum machines blend with Tino's vintage guitar sound and a banjo that's so old that it's sounds like a saz. Their hybrid musical style finds it's influences in artists like King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Flavien Berger, Altin Gün and Mehmet Aslan.
They produced their first EP, Hyperdruide, in an old farmhouse nestled in the hills of Sancerre, France. Each song captures a natural element, and reflects upon the metaphysical questions of human existence: birth, death, creativity and love.
Walter Astral is a celestial explorer, roaming through parallel universes, and diving down wormholes hidden in gigantic sequoias. Stars living in the trees, candle-shaped men, witches and druids, these and other creatures accompany Walter Astral on his transcendental journey.
