Montréal $ud, the ambitious first album from the montréalais-by-rive-sud collective Dead Obies, is available now digitally via Bonsound (a vinyl album will be available at a later date). The tracks chronicle the proverbial stations of the cross by six young Jesus figures (MCs Snail Kid, 20some, Yes Mccan, O.G. BEAR, RCA, and producer VNCE) as they travel from the suburbs (Montréal-Sud, Longueuil's original name) to the big city. Each of the 17 songs is packed with locational and generational aspirations and anxieties. Buy the album on their website or on iTunes.
Don't miss the free album launch show in Montreal, at Cabaret du Mile-End, on November 13th, presented in collaboration with Coup de coeur francophone!
