Astral 2000, Virginie B’s new album, is now available on vinyl, CD and digital format!
Virginie offers her unique take on hyperpop which incorporates elements of nu-jazz, funk and R&B, complemented with a sophisticated conceptual approach inherited from art pop and a pronounced taste for maximalism and glamour.. The result is an album that is as quirky as it is accessible, on which she explores her femininity, her psyche and her relationship to technology and nature.
Conceived alongside producer and multi-instrumentalist Louis Jeay-Beaulieu, Astral 2000 is one of the first hyperpop albums to come out of Quebec, and its originality makes it stand out from the genre’s leading acts. On this second album, she presents herself as a carefree queen, a digital nymph, a timeless creature.
To celebrate the release of Astral 2000, Virginie B will present launch shows at Le Belmont in Montreal (as part of POP Montreal) on September 26th, Bains Publics in Rimouski on October 11th and Le Pantoum in Quebec City on October 12th.
