Les Louanges turns the page with an emotional music video for the song Facile

After playing a total of 80 concerts in Québec and Europe since the release of his sophomore album in winter 2022, Les Louanges is closing the Crash chapter with a new music video for the song Facile. More than just a personal favorite for the artist, Facile also became one of the most anticipated songs by live audiences. The success of the Crash tour earned him four nominations at this year's ADISQ Gala in the following categories: Artist of the Year - International Recognition, Show of the Year, Lighting Design and Projections of the Year (Mathieu Poirier) and Direction and Scenography of the Year (François Blouin).

For his new music video, Les Louanges called upon Soleil Denault, who directed the videos for Pigeons and Chaussée, two songs also featured on Crash. Its release serves as a thank-you to his fans, giving the singer-songwriter a chance to say goodbye until the next chapter.

The music video opens by depicting the story told in the song: Vincent is at a restaurant on a date and starts the conversation by reciting the lyrics, an image which mirrors the stark contrast between the sadness of the lyrics and the sweetness of the melody. As the video unfolds, the focus shifts to the story behind the album itself, in particular its release and reception. The artist's sad clown make-up alludes to the entertainment that can be derived from real suffering, in this case a breakup, and the personal challenges that may arise from releasing a body of work about a painful subject. The music video culminates with footage from the Crash tour, featuring flashes from past performances and the fans who have accompanied Les Louanges throughout the process.

Upon its release, Crash immediately caught the attention of critics on both sides of the Atlantic, thanks to its ambitious, inventive pop direction. With this record, Les Louanges was nominated at the Gala de l'ADISQ for Songwriter or Composer of the Year, Alternative Album of the Year and Critics' Choice of the Year, in addition to bringing home the awards for Arrangements of the Year (alongside his long-time collaborator Félix Petit) and Album Artwork of the Year. Described by Exclaim! as a “dense yet coherent album in which Roberge takes calculated risks” in their 8/10 review, Crash also earned a place on the prestigious Polaris Prize long list, in addition to winning a JUNO for Francophone Album of the Year and the Grand Prix Design d'Idéa 2022 for its breathtaking visuals. Since its release, Les Louanges has given 80 concerts in Canada, France and Belgium, including two sold-out shows at the MTELUS.
